Mule Deer Hunting Our mule deer hunts are conducted in Southern Alberta. This zone is well known for big mule deer bucks and we feel very fortunate to have allocations in this area. Our mule deer hunts are a lot of fun for our hunters because most people cannot believe how many deer they will see while on their hunt. Our mule deer hunts take place in the foothills of South Central Alberta where we farm, ranch and live. We have been operating these hunts for over 25 years. We have a very good mule deer population here with good habitat and few predators. We hunt mule deer mainly on the alfalfa fields and along the coulees and draws. Most years we will harvest mule deer in the 170 class with possibilities to take bucks that will score into the 180's or better. We use ground blinds quite a bit while mule deer hunting as well as some bush drives. We also have success along the river bottoms as they seem to spend time in these areas in between feeding on the second growth alfalfa fields. Mule deer hunting in this area t also lends itself well to a combo hunt with whitetail if you would like to take more than one trophy while on your trip. It is very possible on some of our locations to see whitetail deer while waiting on that big muley buck to show himself. Our mule deer hunters will stay at our farm in the foothills of South Central Alberta. We have a comfortable hunting cabin to stay in and you will enjoy delicious home cooked meals while on your hunt. Usually it will be only you and your hunting partner in camp while you are hunting with us. |
